Thursday, March 20, 9:00 to 9:30 am, Docent training update.  Whether you are one of our regular docents or would like to become involved with preserving the history of Rockton Township, you are invited to join us for this brief educational session .

Monday, March 24, 7:00 pm   Insights into the Civil War, Chris Kissinger.  Mr. Kissinger has been studying the Civil War and its complicated history for many years.  Join us as he shares some of the most interesting and possibly lesser known aspects of this time period.

Sunday, Apil 27, 1:00 pm   Memories of the Wagon Wheel, Gary Glaser.  As our resident Wagon Wheel Historian, Gary has searched out the detailed history of the people and events that made the Wagon Wheel Resort the one time premier destination in Northern Illinois.  Each year he adds to the information we learn about the “Wheel”. 

May 16& 17, 9:00 am—4:00 pm Trash to Treasure Sale.  This will include our potted Geranium plant sale and Mini Rhubarb Fest sale of baked goods.  In addition we will have tickets available for the raffle of a hand pieced quilt of vintage fabrics, recently discovered and quilted for us.  More information to follow.

Monday, May 19, 7:00 pm – We will meet at the Old Stone Church for a program on the history of the church and learn about the construction of this special building and the families that organized the church in the 1800s.

Monday, June 23, 7:00 pm  – History of Macktown State Bank (Now First National Bank)

Monday, July 28, 7:00 pm  –  RTHS member Jim McAffee will take us down memory lane to learn about the early Pubs and Taverns in Rockton.
