The 'Grout House':  In 1865 Lucius Fassett constructed this home using the method known as "grout".  A mixture of mortar and pebbles was poured in forms layer by layer and then plastered and scored to mimic the look of stone blocks.

The home is furnished in period style including a parlor, dining room, bedroom, children's room, sewing room and an "updated" kitchen from the early 1900s.

The Wagon Wheel Resort:  The Rockton area became known near and far as the home of Walt Williamson's Wagon Wheel Resort.  Many celebrities spent time at the resort at it's height.  It was known as a special place for honeymoons, as well as having wonderful restaurants and entertainment.

Our displays document the rise and fall of the resort in news articles, pictures and memorabilia.  Many items detail the history of the Ice Palace and the career of Olympic skater Janet Lynn who trained at the resort rink.

Please check the "Who are We?" and "Do You Know Us?" section under REMEMBERING THE WAGON WHEEL.
